SHIELD FAQs
Surface Preparation for Shield Products
If your vehicle does not have ceramic coating applied by a professional detailer, it is best to perform a full decontamination wash before opting for si02 products.
A Decontamination Wash includes: Snow Foam > Orange / Purple decontamination coating layer > Rinse > Contact Wash > Rinse.
Apply Shield Shampoo during the contact wash or Shield Spray/Concentrate after the final rinse, when the vehicle is still wet.
Without a full decontamination wash, you may experience streaking on your paint, which will require a decontamination wash to remove the product.
When Should I Apply Shield?
Shield Shampoo: Apply as contact wash with two bucket method.
Shield Spray & Concentrate During a typical Snow Foam wash, apply Shield Spray and Concentrate after a contact wash, whilst the car is still wet.
Shield is a wet-application product.
Snow Foam > Rinse > Snow Foam Contact Wash > Rinse > Shield Spray/Concentrate > Rinse > Dry
Ceramic Detailer: Apply when the car has been washed, rinsed and dried. It is a dry-apply product.
Waterless Wash: Apply as a quick detailer, as a dry apply product.
How Do You Apply Shield Products?
Shield Shampoo: Add 20mL to 10L of water in a bucket. Contact wash with two bucket method, panel by panel. Rinse thoroughly.
Shield Spray: Spray onto all paint panels, allowing to sit for 30 - 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly. High pressure washer rinse recommended.
Shield Concentrate: Add 100ml of Shield Concentrate into a Snow Foam Lance and cover the vehicle. Avoid windows where possible. Rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer.
Window Shield: Spray onto all exterior windows, wiping it clear with a clean microfibre cloth.
Can I Remove Shield?
Yes you can, simply apply Snow Foam Orange across the entire car, scrub and rinse. The car will be free from Shield at that point.
